The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has today, 10th October 2025, demolished unauthorised structures at the Darkuman Market.
The exercise is to help pave the way for the 24 hr Economy market initiative by the government of Ghana.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Adamu Musa Kalamu, assured residents that construction of the new market would begin before the end of the year.
He added that 80% of the District Assembly’s Common fund has been allocated to the various Assemblies to supervise their construction projects, therefore they couldn’t disappoint the people
Residents of the area saidthat while they support the redevelopment project, they expect the Assembly to expedite the construction project to avoid prolonged disruption of their livelihoods
