The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has engaged stakeholders and occupants of the Darkuman Market, serving official notices to vacate the market space to pave the way for its upcoming reconstruction.
The exercise was not only about delivering notices but also about listening to concerns and fostering open dialogue with traders. The Assembly emphasized that while the market’s modernization is necessary, the well-being of vendors remains a top priority.
Hon. Adamu Musah Kalamu, the Municipal Chief Executive, assured traders that the transition process would be carried out with transparent communication and adequate support to minimize disruption to their livelihoods.
“Our commitment is to build a future that honors your legacy while creating a modernized, vibrant, and sustainable market that will benefit generations to come. You are the heart of this community, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to a revitalized trading space,” Hon. Kalamu stated.
