Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly to Enhance Security and Lighting
The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly is poised to significantly improve security and lighting across the municipality with the planned procurement of over 1,500 streetlights. This initiative was announced during a town hall meeting held for residents of the Sakaman Odorkor - Otaten Zonal Council, which encompasses areas such as Tsuimami, Odorkor, Otaten, Sakaman, and Awoshie.
Key Concerns Raised by Residents
During the meeting, various stakeholders, including Unit Committee members, representatives from the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), traders, women, and youth groups, expressed concerns about several pressing issues affecting the municipality. These concerns included:
Poor road conditions
* Inadequate drainage systems
* Unemployment
* Lack of streetlights
Addressing the Gathering
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kalamu Musah Adamu, assured residents that the Assembly is committed to addressing these issues on an electoral area basis. He also revealed that the Assembly has initiated efforts to engage with local communities to establish neighborhood watching security groups, further enhancing security in the Municipality.
